![]() ![]() Because of the deep changes made to formulas in this game, Monsters required to be tweaked.Beyond stat changes, several pieces of gear have been reworked to make new ones, like taking away the Onion Helm and Gloves to create things more Classes can use, or making the Thief Gloves something new. Talking about equipment, it has also been given a large cleanup.Stat growths between all Classes have been redone to make their progress on similar levels instead of the more chaotic way of gaining Stats than before, and of course equipment and Spell changes have been made here and there. ![]() Because of the points above, all Classes were thoroughly modified.MP has been cut down in all Classes to brig back some of the feel of FF1’s MP management woes. Instead of most Spells being Area of Effect by default doing very large amounts of damage, the player now has to choose between strong single attacks or multi-targeted attacks that deal moderate damage, and weaknesses and resistances play a bigger role. The largest change in the Magic system, bringing back the Multi-targeting system improved through ASM hacking (thanks to Cyneprepou4uk and Everything8215) and reworking all the Spells make a more dynamic and far less broken system.A few Battle engine modifications to make it a bit better, such as not needing to press a button to start every battle. This also includes making Strength as a statistic more useful. Modified mechanics related to the progression of physical and magical power that provide a higher ceiling in damage and a better curve for the former and a more stable growth among Classes for the latter. The end results aim to be the most polished and challenging version of this hack, and an attempt to make what could be considered a solid, final release a 7th Anniversary celebration if you will. The main goal was to improve the progress of physical power of your characters, but to accomplish it with the level of polish the author wanted, he ended having to rework every single aspect of the hack again. The 1.40 release is a gigantic new overhaul of the game, bigger than what 1.30 was. Also, he wont usually 1 shot mobs with the aga level spells most of the time so usually its a waste of time to use those unless you have another mage using spells and then he can finish off but if hes your only caster then the attack magic is usually a waste of money and slots and better on black mage or just using items with spells attached.Final Fantasy III Maeson is a rom hack of, obviously, Final Fantasy III for the Famicom/NES, and now has received its latest update, the 1.40 Version. His awful hp does ensure hes hiding in the back with the black mage and monk who dont want to get hit. He no longer makes white and black mage useless and no longer outclasses ninja, hes much more balanced now and not useless at the end of the game, he may no longer be your highest dps or best healer but he at least contributes. He's fine where he is atm he was busted in the original nes ver for sure he deserved a nerf but even with that he still is decent. Hes basically the best early game char in the game but falls off midgame but even after falling off his physical attack is still decent enough to kill 1 enemy at a time (most other chars overkill which results in the same thing lol) but in boss fights is where he falls off but he can still do the buff bot role which is fine as others will kill the boss for you. But will always be weaker than a Knight / Ninja / Black Belt buffed. If he is your only Melee DPS he can get the job done being buffed him self. And mage staff does about the same damage as his best spell so your better off just loading him up with heals and buffs. Yeah his auto attack is stronger than his best magic. And when it came to bosses I had him spend a couple turns using giants gloves on himself and he was fine holding his own. Are you sure about that? My party had a non magic using red mage and he was regularly one shotting enemies. Give him the mage staff or Gauntlets if you really want to use DPS magic on him but only if you dont also have a white mage or black mage since they do more damage with it. They rarely do more damage than your auto attack and your wasting your healing slots. I would not bother with his damage spells. In boss fights, buff the best DPS with haste / temper. Regular fights, Attack stuff with your sword. ![]() Being the only (good) Auto attacker that has access to healing spells. In this version he excels in giving the player a easier early game.
